Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and innovative Quantum Algorithms Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with multiple partners, including quantum hardware developers and industry clients, to explore and develop quantum algorithms that can solve real-world problems. Your work will focus on identifying what is feasible with current quantum technology and preparing for future breakthroughs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Algorithm Development: Develop and enhance quantum algorithms and simulations that effectively utilize the capabilities of current and emerging quantum hardware.
  • Industry Collaboration: Partner with R&D teams across various industries to apply quantum algorithms and simulations to solve computational challenges, delivering value to clients in practical ways.
  • Research and Innovation: Conduct research on near-term quantum computing methods, exploring both theoretical and practical applications. Focus on finding innovative ways to leverage quantum computing to address specific industry needs.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts from diverse fields to translate complex commercial problems into quantum computing challenges that can be addressed with specialized algorithms.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Communicate research findings through journal publications, technical presentations, and industry conferences. Contribute to the broader academic and professional community by sharing insights and advancements in quantum algorithms.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Quantum Information Science, Quantum Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science, Theoretical Physics, Quantum Computation Theory, or a closely related field. Equivalent experience in quantum research will also be considered.
  • Experience: At least five years of research or work experience in quantum computing, including time spent during advanced degree studies. Experience with quantum algorithms, simulations, and practical applications is essential.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong background in quantum algorithm development. Familiarity with quantum simulations, optimization problems, and partial differential equations is highly desirable.
  • Collaborative Skills: Proven ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and industry experts to apply quantum solutions to real-world challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Initiative and Curiosity: Self-motivated and able to work independently. A deep passion for quantum technology and a strong desire to explore and solve new challenges in the field.
